I sit on the Workforce Development joint committee with NARI & BIA of Central Ohio. We have begun putting together a knowledge base for people interested in the Trades as a career. I recorded a short video to show a glimpse into my day. See the link to our youtube channel here.

Being a certified remodeler is more than just a job; it’s a passion for transforming spaces and bringing dreams to life. In this blog article, we will take you through a typical day in the life of a certified remodeler, showcasing the diverse range of skills, challenges, and rewards that come with this dynamic profession.

Morning Routine and Planning:
A certified remodeler’s day often starts early. They begin by reviewing project plans, schedules, and client specifications. This crucial planning stage ensures that every detail is accounted for, from budgeting and material sourcing to coordinating with subcontractors and obtaining necessary permits. With a clear roadmap for the day ahead, the remodeler prepares to embark on a journey of creativity and craftsmanship.

On-Site Inspections and Consultations:
Once the planning is complete, the certified remodeler heads to the project site for inspections and consultations. This is a critical phase where the remodeler assesses the existing space, discusses design options with clients, and offers expert advice. They carefully listen to the clients’ vision, combining their own knowledge and experience to propose innovative ideas that align with the clients’ goals and budget. The remodeler also takes detailed measurements and notes, ensuring accuracy in the subsequent stages of the project.

Collaboration and Project Management:
After the initial consultations, they collaborate with architects, designers, and other professionals to finalize the project plans. They coordinate with suppliers to source high-quality materials within the budget and timeline constraints. Effective project management skills come into play as the remodeler supervises subcontractors, ensuring that each task is completed efficiently and to the highest standards. They regularly communicate with the clients, providing updates and addressing any concerns that may arise.

While there is a lot more to it, I simply wanted to give a glimpse into what we might be doing on your job today!
